RTWR2018 Will Proceed

Post by Eamonn » Mon Jan 22, 2018 4:43 pm

The Executive Committee of the RTWR wishes to confirm that the annual race will take place, beginning Friday, February 16th 2018.

As like last year, it will focus on one large geographic segment of the globe, will rely on the well-known aircraft of past years and essentially follow the format of the existing General Rules. As is the case every year, a set of Special rules will define the route, specific aircraft limitations and other special circumstances which define the year's challenges.

More details to follow..

Eamonn,

This is great to hear. Thanks to the Exec Committee!

For "real life" planning purposes, it would be great to know (either now or as soon as possible) whether the start time and race maximum duration will be the same as last time. Those were Friday 2200 UTC start, and 48 hours duration.

Many thanks, Martin.

Martin, we've not finalized everything. But the same general format (48 hours) is likely to remain the same. The start time might change slightly...but it may not.
